Sustainable Jewelry Company
About C5

C5 company, LLC, based in Oakland, California in the San Francisco Bay Area, is a sustainable luxury brand company. Our name, C5, is a variation on the traditional method of valuing diamonds based on “the 4 C’s.” We have added a fifth C to the formula indicating that the quality of our jewelry is based not only on Cut, Carat, Clarity, and Color, but Consciousness as well.
A deep commitment to social and environmental responsibility is the foundation upon which the company has been built. That commitment permeates all that we do, from office equipment, to packaging, to manufacturing.
C5 was started by Meghan Connolly Haupt in 2008 as a sustainable custom jewelry business. Meghan started the company after realizing through the pursuit of her own engagement and wedding rings that traditional jewelers were failing conscious consumers like her.
Fine jewelry will always be treasured, but it is also apparent that sustainability is a trajectory, not just a trend. C5 quickly proved that there is a growing market of conscious consumers who believe that they shouldn’t have to sacrifice their values for luxury, or beauty for sustainability.
In the spring of 2010, C5 expanded beyond custom jewelry to offer ready-to-wear collections. In so doing, C5 has been able to bring sustainable fine jewelry to a broader audience. Today, in addition to custom jewelry, C5 company includes Avenue Green, a collection handmade in Bali from 100% reclaimed sterling silver, and Meghan Connolly Haupt, a sustainable luxury collection that goes well beyond just “conflict-free.”
Whether you choose to design a one-of-kind piece or shop our collections of finished jewelry, C5 allows you to wear your commitment.™
