Creating Change
Our ultimate goal is to leverage the power of the jewelry sector to create sustainable change in the poorest countries on Earth. To this end, we have partnered with Under the Baobab Tree (UTBT), an international nonprofit organization dedicated to redevelopment of impoverished communities in Africa.
Under The Baobab Tree provides education and economic opportunities as platforms for long-term solutions to ongoing problems such as disease, pollution and hunger. UTBT is based in Malawi, which is the source of the natural cognac sapphires used in Meghan Connolly Haupt sustainable fine jewelry.
More than 450 students receive a free education through the Namaso Bay
School, a program of UTBT. Additionally, the entire community receives free
healthcare and construction is underway for a community center.
